Eco-Friendly Gingerbread House

Our last blog entry was all about the holidays and we just got a lot of raves about our Holiday Gingerbread Houses. But who knew that we would win the first place on an Eco-Friendly Gingerbread House making contest?!

Yep, Palermo’s Bakery won the top prize in making an Environment-Friendly Designed Gingerbread House!

A minimum of six Green Design Elements were required and these are the ones we featured in ours:

  1. Rainwater Harvesting Storage Tank
  2. Ground-Source Heat-Pump External Ground Loop
  3. Vegetable Garden Box
  4. Low-Impact Recycled Car Tire Foundation
  5. Solar Panels
  6. Micro Wind Turbine
  7. River
  8. Natural Forest Habitat

This is definitely the way to start the holidays! Go Green!
